Your starting point for a stimulating and creative holiday. The Ikast-Brande district lies in a beautiful and extensive landscape on the border between the Jutland ridge and the rolling countryside to the west. Unspoilt heathland can be found just a few kilometres out of the town. There you may be withdrawn into a historic past among the the heather where poet-priest Steen Steensen Blicher found the inspiration for many of his novels. The area around Brande is a paradise for fishing and well known for one of Europs best fishing waters.
Brande itself is a charming trade town with interesting shops and a real pioneering spirit is noticeable. For example in 1968 there was
a group of artists, who started to decorate gables of houses with
paintings so that nowadays we have a colourful town centre.
